The Lonely Road

The Lonely Road

A Poem by Phillip Francis

Segregation from society leads to poverty of the mind.
Attention dwindles down dangerous paths.
There are no guard rails, no yellow lines, nothing to guide the way.
The road is dark, there is no light.
Hazardous terrain forbids safe travels.
Fear has risen. It cannot find the breaks.
No happy ending to this trip.
CRASH!
Negativity has taken hold.
Panic sets in.
Trapped within your soul.
Confidence suffocating.
Sanity begins to unfold.
Irrational thoughts pillage the brain.
Slowly becoming more secluded.
Companionless, the suffering begins.
Last chance.
Speak now to leave this fraudulent existence.
