The Shoe Doesn't Fit

The Shoe Doesn't Fit

A Poem by Phillip Francis
"

A short playful twist on the phrase "If the shoe fits". This phrase is commonly used as a way of suggesting that someone should accept a generalized remark or criticism.

"

If the shoe fits, wear it.

But what if the shoe does not fit?

What then?

Am I forced to wear the shoe you've provided?

Must I keep trying any shoe you give me until one fits?

I think not. I will not play Cinderella. I'd rather be barefoot than unwillingly wear the shoe of a tyrant shoe maker.

I've seized your influence.

No longer do you dictate what shoe I wear. I've created my own shoe. You cannot see it, but it is a magnificent shoe and only those who are worthy will experience my creation.

You my friend, will be left to your own imagination.

I like the idea. And the last line is really good. Entertaining read.
