Love

Love

A Poem by Phillip Francis

A precious gift never to forfeit.
Often taken for granted, until it disappears.

Providing warmth and shelter from turmoil.
At times, adding strenuous weight and discomfort.

Requiring continuous effort and attention.
Nourishment prescribed for growth.

Feelings only known by those who have shared the experience.
Euphoria on the brink of anxious passion.

The world seems different, brighter, more colorful, better.
Fight the denial of the sensation, not matter what fears are experienced.

Participation in this affair will suppress your demons.
Let lust guide through the uncharted landscapes of life.

Surrender to emotions.
Revel in the pleasure.

It's not immortal.
Cherish eternally.
