Flicker And Die

Flicker And Die

A Poem by Ben Taylor

From the anticipation
Of the fumes near the flame,
To the bright white blaze--
Wondrously heartwarming--
To the gently glowing coals,
To the stagnant ash.
I merely wish for everything
To cease its fading.

Beautiful! Perfect rendering. Wistful as well. Most excellent :)

Vivid and most effective imagery.
A well-conceived, precisely created, decidedly unsettling, poetic plea.
One of your best, Ben--a gem!
