A Collapse

A Collapse

A Poem by Ben Taylor

Reality has begun to harshly invade
The sacred separation signified by
Pen and paper.
Uninvited and unwanted,
It infests my ink
And soaks through the canvas
Of my words;
The sanctuary of verse
And rhyme
Is now littered with a fetid
Lack of fiction.
The line has been blurred before,
But never this thoroughly,
This absolutely.
As I again cower in my
Shelter of scribbled paper,
I cannot help but vomit myself
Amidst the letters.
The delineation has been broken--
The tears have bled through
And connected my two worlds.
