![]() Swallow the SeedsA Poem by Ben Taylor![]() For the Garden of Life contest.![]() A bed of fertile soil For these diamonds of life To nestle in. As the season of heartbreak Withdraws her icy stare, Tears of relief fall from Spring's Warm cheeks And give these seeds The love, the nourishment Necessary for growth. Protected from Summer's Baleful desiccation By April's mothering mumbles, They mature, Breathing in deeply the nourishment Of the season. The plants embody the life, The vitalization, Of Spring, Until they are Torn From the soil, Separated from their roots-- Mother Nature's watery blood Carelessly shed To sate the ache of some Gluttonous man's teeth. © 2011 Ben TaylorAuthor's Note
