Inhale And Awake

Inhale And Awake

A Poem by Ben Taylor
"

Summer :D

"
The rustle of leaves
Sprinkles playful shadows
Amidst the slant and shimmer
Of morning light.
The birds of sunrise
Chirrup their songs of awakening,
Bourne aloft by a susurrus
Undercurrent of billowing breeze.
Branches sway in salutary stretches,
Dappling the lawn beneath them
With the shreds of night-time
They have now shrugged away.
Summer is here,
At last.

Chirrup their songs of awakening,
Bourne aloft by a susurrus, not really sure what Susurrus means,
But i enjoyed your write.

Summer is the culmination of seasons, the time of full-bloom.
You portray it masterfully, Ben.

Wow, you really are able to show the birth of summer so vividly in this poem. I love the alliterative emphasis on the b and s, having it on such soft sounds suggests the heat. I also love your emphasis on sound within the poem, all too often poem focus primarily on vision so one that focuses on any other sense is always a pleasure to read but this had a great musicality and lyrical intensity too.

Beautiful and breath-taking. susurrus an excellent word :) i like the repetition of the "s" sounds. And "Sprinkles playful shadows" is inspired. I swear you get better at this each time I read a new work! :) Awesome write Ben :)
