Okay, so this is a bit cryptic. Basically, the subject sees/remembers two things before falling asleep and blends them in his dream, which horrifies him into wakefulness.

Fascinating experience.
I've often wondered what those figures and forms mean--the ones we see when we close our eyes. They can't all be mere residual optical "fragments" carried over from vision's previous use. Some of these pictures are extremely clear--of people and places I, at least, don't recognize.
(Sorry to wander off, Ben.)
Your poem has a mystical feel; is, as usual, well-conceived and well-written. Obviously, thought-provoking, as well.
I didn't understand it (we both know I'm not smart) until I read your comment, now I get it :D
How do you write so... I can't think of a word good enough that I don't overuse, so we're gonna create the term "Bentaylorish" for your poems. Kay? (:
Seriously, all your poems are so...
I don't have words good enough.
You are really talented, or smart, or both.
Amazing write (: xx
