SarahA Poem by Ben Taylor:)The sunlight's gentle slant Coruscates softly Along your eyelashes As you blink. Your hazel eyes, As hypnotic As they are beautiful, Are temporarily hidden From my unwavering Gaze. The painted shutters That guard these windows To your soul Are then again opened, Allowing the sunset's glance To reflect the golden brown Symmetry of your smiling Irises. As the supple curve of your lips Is flirtatiously turned upwards In a grin, I am afraid to blink. You appear to me As something beyond reality; A dream-fairy, Haloed in the radiance Of the evening, Threatening to evaporate Into a memory The moment my eyes are allowed To wander. You stare back at me, Half contentedly, Half searchingly. As a response, I Allow a silent Satisfied Sigh To escape my lips, Closing my eyes As I feel the solidity, The reality, Of your head On my shoulder, Your scent In my soul.
