Language Barrier

Language Barrier

A Poem by Ben Taylor
"

My second attempt at freestyle. :)

"
The bleeding, raw emotion
Contained in your vociferous
Complaint.
A freshly skinned sentiment
Uninfected with words
Or the rot of proper phrasing.
This dearth of articulation
Of linguistic refinement
You posses.
A hindrance of conveyance
Or a refinement of communication?
You
Would know better than I
With your virgin yowl
Unmolested by the desecration
Of literacy
A pure portrayal of feline
Dissatisfaction.

Author's Note

Ben Taylor
If you didn't figure it out from the poem, this was written about my cat. It basically contemplates the difficulty of communication, and debates whether emotion is really better conveyed through words, or if it would be better if just left as it is.

After I wrote it I pulled him out from from under my bed and informed him I had written a poem about him.
The irony was not lost on me. :)
