Permission To Hate Myself

Permission To Hate Myself

A Poem by Ben Taylor

how do I explain that
I'm happiest when happiness is out of reach?
when you're distant
and clearly don't want me there,
I can finally breathe -
you don't need me.
I can't destroy your future
because I was never in it.

of course I could never leave.

you were perfect.
you were an excuse to be
miserable.

' I can't destroy your future
because I was never in it. '

An emotional, yet honest thought.

I can finally breathe -
Gotta move on, especially if it's not meant to be.
