Deciduous

Deciduous

A Poem by Ben Taylor

Excuses slip from these lips
As leaves from autumn trees,
Wilting as they flit past your icy expression.
My canopy of words becomes depleted,
And I am left reticent, shivering,
With a soft circle of rotting phrases
Surrounding my barren self.

It works! Very nice verbiage and imagery.
