when we pause to consider,

why all too often

a new love does wither

the reason is simple

tho the reality

is rare to soften

the pain of its departure..



truth is..
real love owns four reasons,

and lacking even one,

disappointment will follow

just as we would not have a year

without the four seasons



perfect love requires of us

to embrace the four loves complete

affection.. friendship..

eros.. and charity..

any one or more

can feel like love,

but to be true and lasting

requires all four.
