~ Flip Flop Day ~

~ Flip Flop Day ~

A Poem by dEj

~just..Damn
what a flip-flop day!

Benched and sun-drenched,
bare toes teased
by warm breeze....
Dancing trees

Above my eyes,
Cerulean skies,
Clouds Puffy white....
with love bright

Adoringly adorning
as Bright Bows
Dancing in that young girl's hair
This Gracious Morning!

Gayly skipping,
and caring not
having made Golden Ballroom
of this parking lot.

Puffy Cloud Bows
pulled, stretched
shape shifting  Taffy
in high dry winds.

In every perfect way,
It's a flip-flop day!

This poem made me smile. I got caught up a few times and had to reread things--I think the poem would benefit from some restructuring--if you could make the punctuation and look more indicative of how you would orate this piece, it would be a lot more accessible to others. As for me, after a few reads through, knowing what was coming and finding my own cadence with the words; this poem made me smile. And honestly, I don't smile that much. It was a real smile which felt good to have on my face. Thanks.
