lost at puddle

lost at puddle

A Poem by JiltedButterfly

it rained today - cool and wet
puddles gathered in the low places
like schoolboys swapping football cards
or cigarette butts.
the soaked autumn leaves fall and attempt to float in Puddles -
dappled by the random but persistant drizzle -
but are slowly battered until they,  like the Lusitania,
sink under the barrage of the rain drops
all hands lost at sea, or in this case, at puddle.
