CH16:ProtectionA Chapter by Connor FishSpader SouvaHer eyes are so beautiful. The joy in them told me everything about what she was thinking. She was proud or me. Proud that I had had the strength to pull the sword out. To tell you the truth, I wasn't that strong. No, not at all. The sword just seemed to loosen up. But I wouldn't tell her that. I let her have her fun. I took another look around the shop. The sword was in some custom made scabbard on my back that even had a shield strap. They said I could get everything for free, as well. Now that's cool. A tall bulky man with big arms walked out of a back door carrying a shield. My shield. I beamed while examining how well it was. It was made of a blue metal and was linned with silver. An abstract design of a red bird was on the top half. Then a strange red design on the bottom half, I couldn't tell what it was. In the midle, with a black metal, the same symboles that are on the blade were there. "Your shield, sir." He handed it to me. "Thank you." I smiled gratefully to him then put in on the scabbard at my back. Mikala stood up closer to me and stole my left hand. "You're starting to look like a swordsman." I could tell by the look in her eyes that she liked it. "Would you like some chainmail, sir?" the man offered. I pondered this for a minute. "Yes, thank you. Light chainmail if you can." He just nodded and walked off. I turned back to Mikala. "Why don't we go to the tailor to request some garbs for wearing over the chainmail?" © 2009 Connor Fish |
