The Baby

The Baby

A Poem by Cynthia
"

:o

"
Are you willing for a change?
A change that would lit a light,
in someone's early life?
He's a little helpless baby,
who can't fight for his own,
but to stay in the dark,
and kept crying to his own.

Please do care about him,
he's my only son left,
but I knew I was about to die,
I got nothing left in me,
but please listen to me,
help the baby live on,
and don't let him know,
he has such a rotten mom.

I know I'm going to die,
the moment I stand out,
from the shadows, my home,
someone will shoot at me,
but please don't let the baby cry,
make him forget,
he has such a mom,
who can not care about him,
who can not love him.

Please care for the baby,
hide the truth from him,
don't make him regret,
he has such a rotten mom,
he's innocent.

So many qeustions, but they seem to answer themselves. This is beautifully written. I might go as far as saying I felt I was in the shoes of the mother (although, I am a guy, so that's a bit odd lol). To feel that you couldn't give your child a good life and knowing that where you live and what you have done will soon get you killed. I would want my child to never know about it's mother (if I were one). I don't think I've seen anybody really write about this, so nice job on creativity. Also, the rhythm of this was nice and it flowed well. Keep on writing!

wow. that was just amazing! So tragic as well. This poem tells such a sad story. I love the emotions from it. Its depressing for a mother to leave her own baby. And how the baby will never know his own mother. it would make me wanna cry. A baby is a gift and its one of the most precious things in the world we love dear to our heart. Love this! ^^

The poem had a sad tone to it. The mother is dying or escaping? I like the desire for someone to protect and love the baby. You told a complete story in so few words. I believe if a woman can't handle a baby. Adoption is a good way for the baby to have a fair chance at life. A excellent poem with a sad story.

You've really clearly captured a voice in this poem and the characterisation is great. A very thought-provoking poem, thankyou for sharing.

Sometimes we just write what's inside our hearts. The mind is a funny thing. What we feel in our souls, our very bodies that hold all, we let loose to set forth and bring us release.. Well done with this.. Keep the good work coming. It sets the mind free.
