Hostage

Hostage

A Poem by Cynthia
"

Very new to me.

"

What have I done?

Why did you try to hurt me,

like I am your,

biggest enemy?

I haven't even seen you,

but you pointed a gun,

right by my head,

as the crowd screamed.

Police surrounded you and me,

frighted to take a step closer,

afraid you will shoot me,

you didn't care,

you held your gun tight

as you don't realize,

the police were ready,

to start the fight.

BANG!

I gasped in surprise,

as I saw you fell,

on the bloody floor,

with eyes closed.

I broke myself free,

our of your frozen arms,

I am no longer a hostage,

I am back,

into my lovely parents' arms.

A very good poem with a good ending. I like the set-up of the words. You create a dangerous situation with your strong poem. A excellent poem. Thank you.
