Voice on the phone

Voice on the phone

A Poem by Cylis Derrens

Voice on the phone

Got home from camp
Too many women talking to me
Which do I pick?
I don’t know
Will it be Mieke, Ellen or Rachel,
and whoever else might join my
little show

It’s incredibly confusing
I’m not a bad guy
How did I get into this
situation?
How do I get out of it?
I don’t want to lie
So many women
One sounds a little nuts
Why am I so hot for her?
Man this really sucks
Which do I choose?
Please oh God
I could really use your help

Which one is for me?
Who do I choose?
Do I choose one?
Am I destined to lose?
Please my God
Which one do I choose?

I promised Rachel that I
was going to call
Mieke’s acting funny
I won’t call her at all

Picking up the phone I dial
Rachel’s number
I say hello and she ask who
is it and we talk for hours

Thank you God for the answer
I think I’ve found the one for me
I can’t help but be happy
She seems so awesome to me

As I listened to her I knew God
had answered my prayers
Thank you oh God for listening
to me
I’ll do my best to be honest with
her
To be good and true
I don’t know how I’ll ever thank you
Thank you holy father for showing me
some love

When I first started reading this one, I was laughing because I know that situation and wondering how did this happen that I have interest with so many and the agony of chosing between them when we want to make the best choice yet we are clueless as to how to make that chioce. I like the ending as well because it was spiritual and it seems he found the true love out of the rest. Very good write.. It made me smile!

Oh this is lovely. I agree it was amusing in the beginning and then turned into more of a spiritual write, leaning on God to show you which woman was the right one for you.

Great poem :) Love conquers all.....
