A Cloaked Figure

A Cloaked Figure

A Poem by Cylis Derrens

A Cloaked Figure

A shadowy figure
Two Crimson blades
Surrounded by darkness
He makes it a part of himself

Standing there he reaches out
A dark power comes to his call
His foes feel fear
It permeates them
Grasping at their core
Panic stricken many of them fire
The rest hold onto their courage

Bolts of red and blue fly
Each meant to make the cloaked
figure die
No bolt touches him
Not a one
The crimson blades catch them
Sending back everyone

Bolts of death strike the pirates
Most of them die in the hall
Killed by all their bolts
All but two

The last two are wounded
and kneeling
In pain they cry out
Blaster burns on their shirts
Immobilized by fear they can
only watch
The Dark Lord approaches
with vengeance on his thoughts

Cries for mercy go unanswered
He kills both in two quick strikes
Heads roll
Both are gone

The Dark Lord’s thoughts turn
inward
He dwells on thoughts of his lover
who is lost
She was killed by these men
A lover and a son are now gone
He has nothing left but to forge on
Giving himself up to the darkness
he readies himself for the next task

He will take revenge on the Jedi
who caused all this
Those who betrayed her and left her
alone
They destroyed his one hope of
redemption
They betrayed their own
Pathetic hypocrites
So much for high minded ideals
Once he attacks their temple the
galaxy will be glad when they
are gone
