Day go by

some days are better, some not so bright

Not a day goes by

That I don't wonder why

You left without saying goodbye

I still think it's all a big lie.

 

You left when I needed you most

Now in this world I'm truly lost

Engulfed in a thick layer of frost

Frozen, wandering like a hopeless ghost.

 

I've been sad for a long while

Though most days I fake a smile

Live moves along like the river Nile

Hope I'll get stronger with each mile.

 

Some days I manage to forget the pain

I find something to keep me sane

Other days I feel I'm bound in chains

While my tears flow down like rain.

 

It hurts so much to say goodbye...

Letting go feels like the worst betrayal

Yet I know you would want me to move on

So I'll try...as each day goes by.

I really like your rhyming scheme and the flow of the poem. It must have been extremely difficult to have 4 lines for each stanza with that rhyming pattern, but still flowing naturally and making sense.. which is something you did effortlessly. You got your emotions across. =D
