Day go by

some days are better, some not so bright

Not a day goes by

That I don't wonder why

You left without saying goodbye

I still think it's all a big lie.

 

You left when I needed you most

Now in this world I'm truly lost

Engulfed in a thick layer of frost

Frozen, wandering like a hopeless ghost.

 

I've been sad for a long while

Though most days I fake a smile

Live moves along like the river Nile

Hope I'll get stronger with each mile.

 

Some days I manage to forget the pain

I find something to keep me sane

Other days I feel I'm bound in chains

While my tears flow down like rain.

 

It hurts so much to say goodbye...

Letting go feels like the worst betrayal

Yet I know you would want me to move on

So I'll try...as each day goes by.

I have not yet lost anybody close to me. Your words show me a deep ache that pierces itself into every moment, every turn, the ache consumes and no matter if you wish to run from it or not it is still there aching, paining. I imagine it is as they say - only time will heal - but within these words - I feel the ache and it casts a dark sorrow in all directions X Xx

yes indeed,the poem is actually about my dad he passed away when i was sixteen..it will be 7 years end of this year but you never trully get used to/over it. thanks for reading :)

At list you are trying day by day,some tend to go to a dark place and its hard to come back once you cross over,its hard i know but at list some days you forget about it,i guess that is a sign that there is still hope.. Dont let go just try to live with it day by day

sometimes it gets hard ... just no way around it ... its not so much the experience but how we handle it as we let it run its course ..pain, loss and sorrow are like growth pills ;) glad your poem ends on a warrior's note :)
