Poem From A DreamA Poem by Brooke WakeI really did dream this, and woke up and wrote it.
If I'm ever to remove this nauseated pile
Of rumpled flesh out from beneath Glowering rubble of rock If I'm ever to scale stone again Remind me to enlist A second person, all the way up Whose sole purpose Is to hold my hair So that I may let go of myself And others. Burn it all and rise Upward and beyond.
