Alcoholimbo

Alcoholimbo

A Poem by Chris Woestenburg
"

I guess it’s kind of a poem, contrary to my opinions.

"
So I’m sitting on my balcony having a cigarette
I only smoke when I’m drinking, I swear
I close one eye; my contact is dry
The lights in the parking lot battle the black lines from the balcony railing
I notice that when I aim my sight just right
The remaining light of the four lamps added together makes one whole lamp’s worth
Take philosophy from this if you want,
but I’ll take another drink
Life is boring when you work a boring job.
