I can’t even begin to explain how much I miss you

And how much it pains me to see you’ve moved on

But I’ve always known the day would come

When you found someone new and forgot our love was once strong.

Seeing you with her just brings back old times

The way you look at her with a gaze so intense

It’s the same way you looked at me when you told me you loved me

But no matter what I’ll always love you the best.

I remember when you told me I made you the happiest man alive

Nothing could compare to the way our feelings burned like fire

But I guess it’s over and she’s taken my place

The only thing I can do now is look on with desire.

What’s even worse is that I see her everyday

With her green eyes so beautiful and her nickname perfection

I shed a tear every now and then

But I turn the other way to hide it from detection.

I always think of the precious memories we shared

Whilst watching you from afar

Now there’s only one question I want to ask you

What was it that made our love fall apart?

I can’t bear seeing how happy she makes you

Because my love for you has never gone away

I always wonder if you remember when it was me

Because that’s all I think about each and every day.

the poem has this rhythm that reminds me of a song.
It flows really nicely!
