Dreaming of the Wind

Dreaming of the Wind

A Poem by SamBug

Bitter cold brink of darkness
biting chillingly against my fingers
which, for just one second,
removes the numbness of mine soul.
Midnight clear possessed by silence,
overtaken by the nothingness of despair.

Who am I but a mere girl
living in a shattered world,
paving its own path to hopelessness,
like I; begging to be mended.
I gaze upon the mysterious moon,
the night's only northern star,
watching as it disappears behind the bruises
similar to the ones you shed on my heart.

I stop   hold my breath   listen..
to the chilling wind
whistling off the trees;
so bare yet so full of illustrious life.

If only to be like the night's wind;
plagued with ultimate destruction...
blessed with elegant serenity...
free to soar amongst it's own desires;
to look upon the miracle of sensation
and live to wander another wonder.

My body is suffocating
while my soul struggles for air.
I stare out into the shadows
and say goodnight one last time.
Tomorrow is another day
full of dreams and wishes all the same.

I am going to offer a few suggestions only because I find you to a great writer and see a few ways to bring a little more power t this piece. Over all I found these verses likek fingers dragging me into your thoughts. The beginning "Bitter cold drinks up the darkness, two; the chilling; biting away at finger's bone. First line second stanza "Who am I, but merely a girl". Before, considered these suggestion I reread this haunting piece a few times. Sambug it isn't easy finding exceptional poets such as yourself among this vast sea of writers.

The poem itself is blessed with elegant serenity.
It clicks the hurt inflicted on the heart away.
It shows another day of hope and optimism.
Congratulate you for being so loyal to the Lord.

A powerful poem. Life can be a struggle or a journey to understand.
"Who am I but a mere girl
living in a shattered world,
paving its own path to hopelessness,
like I; begging to be mended."
I like the desire and the emotion in this poem. Hard to hold on to dreams. But we must. Thank you for the excellent poem.
