Colors of LoveA Poem by SamBug
As I stare off into space,
I start to think of that beautiful, rainbow barrette. The one you placed so gently in my hair. The one still sitting on my dresser now. The many colors. The ones just like you and me. Red reminded me of all those tears I cried at night when all alone, When you didn't come home. Orange, sitting peacefully on that barrette, reminds me of when we fought. When you didn't want to talk about it. When all I did was sit and wait... Too much waiting. Yellow reminds me of the morning after and you were gone, not in sight. Gone at the break of dawn. Green, my favorite color. I linger on that color, so peaceful; so calm. I remember when you brought me flowers. To apologize. Apologize for everything. I move on to blue. That was the color of the flowers, the ones I still love to this day. You took them from my hands and kissed my tears. Indigo. The sound of your voice, telling me, "I love you." The sweet melody of the harps, Violins Springing from the mouth on your sweet, unbearable face. Violet. I catch myself smiling, thinking about you. Thinking about what we have and share. It's a powerful thing to be in love. And just knowing I will see you, makes my heart spin with glee. I would repeat each color again, starting with red as long as you're with me! © 2010 SamBugAuthor's Note
