Falling with Grace

Falling with Grace

A Poem by Leah T

I fell towards the earth for so long

Lord, it felt like flying
So I closed my eyes
And I was nothing
But when I came to, back flat on the ground
I knew I was still alive and kicking

Guess now I better get up off the dirt

Straighten my neck and dust off my shirt

Drag myself over to old New York town

They understand a man who's been long falling down

But if I could have kept falling
Right through the ground
Breaking the earth's surface
And flying through the ground
Heading towards that center fire
I'd be homeward bound

Not sure how I feel about the last stanza. I really like the whole idea of falling through the ground. And I espically like the part about 'straightening out my kneck' It was like "Okay, time to get back up and moving" even after some 'horrible' happened. Well done. :)
