Apple

Apple

A Poem by Leah T
"

I wrote this poem for a class assignment: "Write an original poem 'in the spirit of'' Maçâ by Manuel Bandeiras". So this is an original piece inspired by that poem.

"

 Apple

For something so big you come so little

Beginning in roundness,

Ending in newness

And the redness of

Your divine love

I see in this here apple.

Life extends from inside you

Apple life extends mine

Since ever, forever, til there’s no more time

And here you sit, your living flesh

On my poor table living rests

And sometimes in this life of mine,

Somewhere on this forever line,

I get to see you.

I really like this. The ending is so beautiful. I wonder if Eve had similiar thought so so long ago ;-)

This is nice. I love being able to see some one take something so simple as an apple and creating something rather interesting about it. I believe the thing I love most about this piece is the title. It's so simple that it MAKES some one want to read it just to answer the question of why you entitled it "Apple". I'm sure you done fine on the assignment=).

Very sweet (the poem AND the apple!)
I wonder if this might have been part of Eve's pitch to Adam!
And...I'll bet Cezanne would have loved it! (I did!)

Oh, this is an excellent poem. I love the overall flow of the lines and the beautiful imagery I get from such simple words.
