I Feel

I Feel

A Poem by Curtis Shannon
"

We all feel something.

"
I feel the calming breeze
Sweep across my face.
But inside, deep down inside
The bowels of my very being,
I feel only chaos;
I know only chaos.

I feel the cool waters
Flow across my bare feet.
But inside, locked away inside
My cold, stone heart,
I feel the fire of hate;
It burns me.

I feel weak attempts of love
From others who will fail me.
And that's why--that's why
My life is a cluster of darkness.
I feel nothing;
I am nothing.

geez this is sad..if only by some kind of osmosis...that which is so beautiful and calming on the outside could pierce the skin, enter the inside of us...make us smile..

but life just gets so dark it is impossible to feel anything..

been there, done this.
