…Eyes Open and Hands Out…

 

 

My eyes are open and my hands is out

But no one sees me

even though I stand out

They say things like “not today and I don’t have it

Get a job, get a life” and I all ready have it

A life that they do not know about and ashamed of

Cause we live in the land of the free the brave and brotherly love

They don’t have it but they don’t finish what is on their plate

Through away things that can be used at a later date

Through away everything instead of washing and cleaning out

At the way its going soon you will be able to do that with your mouth

The work that made us famous is gone overseas

No way to help or feed my kids with no factories

The mom and pop stories being closed down

Because the Mega Mart are popping up in lots in towns

Those that say they don’t have it today I don’t mind

Because I know that they will help at the right time

Some day I hope this all changes and people open their eyes

Then maybe to big business it would not be such a surprise

To see me this child on the streets

With my hand out and open eyes………
