Where Does it lead?

Where Does it lead?

A Poem by Carlock
"

Just something that dictates my life. It's a principle of mine so to speak.

"

Where Does it Lead?

Is one supposed to stand around when one's love doesn't return it?
If the person you love doesn’t love you…
Do you persist,
Do you stay,
Do you try anyways?

Do you follow your heart?

The answer is yes.
It has always been yes.
Unless your heart stops beating,
You follow your heart.
You let it take you where it may
But you don't look back
You "can't just get over your heart"
And to be honest, nor should you
It sustains you, keeps you alive
Without your heart, where can you live?

How can you live?

Just be sure you where know where your heart lies

Because if you don’t, you’ll find nothing but regret and dissatisfaction
But if you do, you're in the right direction
You let that beating lifeline take you down every avenue
Every creek of every stream

Every river of every sea
Every square inch of possibility
Until there is nothing left but you,

Your heart,

And your love.

And then you can finally pick up the pieces.

But whether you hit a brick wall or find perfect happiness,

Your heart has followed through.

And now you’ve found your way.

Author's Note

Carlock
If anyone has read the previous version, 'where does the heart go,' please not that I actually did write this and the one before. I was in a hurry to show it to someone.

Regardless, this version is more professional, but above all, better, than it was before.

I have been trying to write my own pieces for awhile now, but I never really had that excess drive through the assistance of other people. This site seems like a perfect way for me to express myself, .. more..
