To Listen Intently

To Listen Intently

A Poem by JacobMarloe

alone in the woods
trees shiver
gnarled faces
snarl intently
heart lists the beat
thick pulse
blue blood
warms nicely
sleeping in the earth
restless dirt
twisted life
moves quietly
speeking the silent verse
leaves quiver
evergreen mouths
whisper antiquity

I like the spare, evocative delivery of this one. Using the fewest words necessary, it puts you into the immediacy of the forest scene, captures the moment well. Good work.
