A Poem by Stark

Mistakes

I rarely make them
But I do. Who doesn't?
It's only human to get something wrong every now and then.

How do we define a 'mistake'?
Let's try using tenses to make it simpler.
Past, something that happened before, either recent or slightly further.
Present, something that is happening now, as we speak, as you read these words in front of you.
Future, something that is bound to happen, willfully or unwillingly.

I realize that as I wake up everyday
In my waking moment
That falling for you is a mistake
That falling for you while interlocked with someone else is wrong
That falling for you as I hold her hand is wrong

A mistake
And if I'm not too careful
I'm afraid that I might take it too far
Somewhere far and unknown to me
Somewhere I have to start over
Somewhere I risk ending things
Things I have been living with
Things I have been comfortable with
Things I cannot imagine being estranged to

But
Time is a cruel thing
Your smiles are unbearable
Your eyes. I cannot fathom or
even put in to words how delightful they are to me.
If only

I had met you earlier
Maybe I wouldn't be here
In this dilemma
In this hell
Why?
