.A Poem by brendan Ssometimes you just can't stand it
Her laugh
Is like plastic wrap.
suffocating my head Being pulled (oh anguish!) over my two tragus Making that awful squee-gee Making all the capillaries on my neck curl into KNOTS and SCREAM And I am cornered By her and her fat head friend And they jiggle viciously Giggling over hot CHEE-TOES and SLUR-PEES the size of Great Danes
While I soak back into the mass of tepid cotton That is my guilt and fear That deep at its glass-and-razorwire core Is compressed and purified into resignation and despair
My extremities battle it By fidgeting, and tweaking tweaking With restless electric impulsiveness That gets nothing done, NOTHING DONE
So, like angry volcanoes the core burps and forms zits on the forehead the size of MOUNTAINS
Not even the gold drenched meadow That smiles at the sky just before dusk raises my spirits Just scours my optic nerve And makes the dissonance between Demi-spheres of the mind Grate and Grate and Erupt with Sparks That scatter dead by my twitch twitch feet
Stuff your face Stuff your face! fat fatuous not-knower-not-seer Who wriggles!
