Dear God

Dear God

A Poem by Dan James
"

Not everything is black and white.

"

Oh Lord,

Heavenly, holy Lord,

Let this event,

Or this act of crime,

Remind me of how evil you are.

Damn you for letting this happen.

Placing blame is easy.

Lord.

Easing me of this pain will be difficult.

Allowing time to heal is impossible.

She's gone.

Exactly as you planned, right?

How your plans are seemingly "right",

Explains why so many people hate you.

Let this be a lesson,

Preparing me for the future of disappointment.

Me.

Exile me to damnation.
