Four Walls

Four Walls

A Poem by Dan James

These four walls between us.

They separate us. Why did you do that?

How dare you do that?

We had everything you know.

Now I lost you, you know. You're trapped in those four walls.

And I'm trapped in my own walls.

Nothing will ever be the same.

I won't ever be the same. They say nothing lasts forever.

But I thought we would be forever.

You're so lost in your mind.

It's making me lose my mind. You killed, and you left me.

You essentially killed me.

But, it's okay.

It's going to be okay. I still love you.

I'm going to keep loving you.

Nothing will break my affections.

Even if you don't have those affections. You.

The undying love I have for you.

I'll wait for you outside of these four walls.

Trying to escape my own walls. They separate us.

These four walls between us.
