HumansA Poem by Dan JamesI've been thinking a lot about humans. How they're deceptive. And mean. And liars. And cheaters. And horrible beings. Yet at the same time, as if it were a miracle, they're also amazing. And genius. And smart. And creative. And funny. And beautiful. And just... Humans. It's also interesting though. My views on humans are so mixed. Can they really be all that, And more? "Yes," says the voice. Then why do you hate the world? I'm just curious. Because if, Humans are really all these things and more. Everyone has something in common. You're not unique, But that's not a bad thing. It means you're part of a society. The society. Human. You're human, just like us. Therefore, if you hate society. If you hate how the "man" works, If you hate how the world spins. Don't you hate yourself? If you do hate yourself, And it's because of the bad in the world Naturally, caused by humans, Then I am sorry. On behalf of every seven billion of us, I am sorry. Because one apology should cover the rest. Because if I apologize, Then other people will as well. We're not unique, But like I said, It's not a bad thing. It just means we can speak as one sometimes, And sometimes, that's all you need. Is one person saying something, That everyone else should say.
