I Meant It

I Meant It

A Poem by Dan James

When I said I would love you forever, I meant it.

When I poured my heart out to you that one stormy night, I meant it.

The day I confessed my love for you under the starry night, I meant it.

All of it, I meant all of it.

Me suggesting we get married, I meant that too.

I swear I meant it.

Please, take me back.

I know we had our differences.

We had our struggles.

And our fights.

We barely saw eye to eye.

But love me, please.

I meant everything I said, why didn't you?

Please.

I would kill for you.

Ask me anything, I would do it.

Please, love.

Love me.

I don't know what I would do without you.

How am I supposed to know?

You're all I know in life.

My life was going to be about you.

And now it's not.

I'm scared. Please.

Help me.

I loved you.

I meant it.

God be my witness, I meant it.

Please take me back, I meant it.

I meant it.

I meant it.

Please.

Please, love.

I don't think I can live without you.

Why should I, really?

Please, love.

I meant every word.

I meant all of it.

I meant it.

Stay.

I meant it.

I meant it.

Please.

I meant it.

I meant it.

Help me.

I meant it.

I meant it.

I'm demented.

Fantastic. The feeling of sheer desperation is so raw. Well done :)
