Emotional Dwarfism

Emotional Dwarfism

A Poem by Topaz

I struggle

to make the words

the concepts

the feelings

Real for you!

Comprehensible to you!

I reach,

I shout,

I cry,

--all--

without success!

You nod your head

You tell me that you listen

You tell me that you understand

--all--

to no avail

my heart shrinks

my passions wane

my soul is starving

for an emotional connection

for my soulmate

for cerebral intimacy

--all--

just within my reach

I stretch

I cry

I yell

I curse

--all--

actions,

an ungainly exercise in futility

Sadly

I find you lacking

the skills

the desire

the ability

to sooth my parched throat

and wounded

affections.

What a sad song.
The voice of exp;erience.
There is nothing so demeaning,
so humiliating as to feel that no
one is listening, that no one cares.

This is extremely well written.
An outletting of passion and grief.

Keep up the writing. Thhis is excellent.
