Love Itself

Love Itself

A Poem by Carly Holtzman

Wanting to push away the future pain,

Tearing at yourself because the possibilities of failure

is too much to bear.

Fingernails drawing blood like vulture talons

Your faint heart cannot

Weather on any more disappointments.

You love to love and

Yearn to love but

Love itself is pain.
