Lonely Is What I Am

Lonely Is What I Am

A Poem by Carly Holtzman

Lonely is what I am,

Conceptual is what I breathe.

No one can love me

Because no one could ever

Understand what is in my head.

The flashes and blurs and shapes,

I can follow the path of light

Reflected off the crystal.

I see bubbles of energy orbiting,

Even I don’t know

What to make of them.

It.

Me.

Movement is captured

But you’ll never be there.

I move.

I spin.

I resist anything that

Tries to hold me

No one can catch me.

No one can love me.
