rightly remarked when we are with ourselves we tend be our true selves, but the eyes or at times even thought of others makes us a bit pretentious.

and yes we do show at times what we want others to see in us.

Yes, if who you are when alone is way different from who you are with others, it's time for reflection on who you're trying to please, others or yourself. Of course, there is the way we are at work, with friends, with family, but the basic you shouldn't deviate much, one from the other. Thought provoking write!
