Breaking The Circuit

Breaking The Circuit

A Poem by Mike Davies

The thunder booms like autumn leaves
striking
a soil of shifting thoughts
and my mind has grown
to quasar
heights
to exist beyond the stars

They say you can see forever
as the taste for life
departs
when the charge it feeds
makes time run on
into micro nerves of pylon flesh
and memory fuel of healing song

Make no mistake there will be solar
tears
but down here
they will fall like diamond rain
to burn a hole through
all the toxic hymns
and mortal hybrid sulphur crowns

Across this circuit of wind and bones
