Waiting For Signals

Waiting For Signals

A Poem by Mike Davies

Sing it to me, that song in the veins
poured from your lips

across the circuit of time

Sing it to me, that sweet octave so pure
exciting the Earth

to move upwards in scale

May the flowers exult you

Let the birds and the insects
memorise each chord

So they can broadcast the rapture
that pulsates from your heart

Your voice is exquisite, it bestows
fuel to the stars

It is the waveform of ecstasy

It fills me with pride

To know I have heard you
would be this life's highest reward

I am in awe of you

I feel so small in the presence
of such mighty exhilirating power

And if need be I will wait
the way rock crystal has to

Holding its breath in some
deep dark immensity of twilight

Resonating to the Earth's insatiable
harmonic field

Forming one regular continuous heartbeat

Knowing with absolute certainty
I am part of a joyous most infinite whole
