Chapter 8 "The Unexpected Guest"

Chapter 8 "The Unexpected Guest"

A Chapter by Mary Robins

I quickly opened my eyes the moment I heard the beeping sound of my alarm clock telling me that it's already 7 pm. I pulled myself up in a sitting position, rubbing my eyes. After sitting for a minute or two, I stood up and walked over to my sofa where my towel was drooped. Opening my mouth wide while yawning, I pulled the towel and headed to the bathroom. The moment the water touched my skin, I felt a soothing and refreshing sensation throughout my body. "This is what I'm talking about!". While the tiny drops of water landed on my cooled skin, I thought about Elizabeth. A little smile formed on my lips while thinking about her, the way she smiles which made my heart beats a million times, the way she looked at me which made me melt from where I'm standing and the way she called out my name is like a music to my ears. While in the middle of my thoughts, a sudden voice brought me back to reality. "Steve, Andrea and I were going out for a while, is there anything you want before we leave?""Nothing, mom, thanks!""Okay, we're heading out now!""Okay, mom, take care!" I heard the bang of the door reverberated throughout my room telling me that mom and Andrea were already outside. I wrapped the towel around my waist, opened the door and headed to my closet. After few seconds of choosing what to wear, I picked the white T-shirt with the acronym U.S.A on the chest part and a black pants. After changing, I stride towards my bedroom where my cell phone is lying. I picked it up and inserted it in my pocket. I glanced at my alarm clock, it's already 7:30. I headed towards the mirror and comb my hair backwards before heading downstairs. I headed to the kitchen and checked the fridge and held out a glass pitcher which is filled with orange juice. I poured the orange juice on the glass and gulped it all down. The sound of a doorbell reverberated throughout the living room made me jump in place. "Oh great, did you forget something Andrea", I murmured to myself. I quickened my steps towards the door. The moment I opened the wooden door, my mouth involuntarily opened wide the moment I saw the figure standing opposite me. "Anna?"
