Chapter 2 "The Returned Of A Nightmare"

Chapter 2 "The Returned Of A Nightmare"

A Chapter by Mary Robins

Where am I? , I was woken up by a stinging pain in my forehead. I touched my head and all I saw was blood in my hand. "What's happening?, how did I get in here?". I tried to stand but I fell to my knees because of the dizziness I felt. I looked around and all I saw was darkness except for a well-lit black candle in front of me and a close coffin behind it. Somehow, this place seemed really familiar. I've been here before!. I saw a woman dressed in black gown standing beside the coffin. Her face was covered with a black veil. She was saying some things that I couldn't understand, more like a chant in different language. I tried to stand again but my knees won't budge, it's like I'm glued in place. My hands were shaking, a sweat ran down to my cheeks. This is my first time to feel extremely nervous and terrified. Nothing else to do, I'm forced to listen to her.
Finally, after few minutes of chanting, she stopped. She raised her head and looked at me. She opened her mouth and began to speak, "you killed him..., you killed my only beloved son, I cursed your soul, and now I'm going to take it." She raised her both hands above her head, and suddenly, a strong wind busted the wooden door and window. I could tell that we're in the middle of a forest. I saw the trees swaying and bending, and I could hear the cracking sounds of their branches. I turned towards her and saw her hands lowered in front of her, and then, a sudden chill ran down through my body that made it numb and heavy, it's like I'm in a place full of snow. I collapsed to the floor, I could barely see the woman, neither the candle nor the coffin. My vision became blurry, and then, everything went to dark.
I opened my eyes and I could see a familiar ceiling. I'm in my own room. It was just a bad dream, a really bad dream. I sat up, and looked at my watch, its 3:45 pm. I could see my hands are shaking. I wiped the dripping sweat in my cheeks with my hand. Since I moved here, the nightmares that's been haunting me for years had been vanished, until now. The nightmares, they started to come back again, they started to terrorize me again. "Why's this happening?, I don't understand." Lost in my thoughts, I bolted up by the sound of the doorbell. I got up and headed downstairs. I opened the door and an unexpected visitor appeared. "Steve?"
