Predator and PreyA Poem by CrystalBluePersuasionI wrote this in honor of a dear friend who took his own life in February of 1994Streets fill with chaos and rush, while I hear only a great hush.
Buildings teem with life, people move madly about- terror traps my mind, in desperation I loudly shout.
Ignorant ones with which I dwell, are clueless to my despair.
How can I expect more? Such feelings I do not share.
Earth is roamed by predator and prey. Strength destroying weak, they both cannot stay.
Life is the predator, I am its prey.
Why must it be this way?
I feel the earth shatter beneath my tread. Lips numb, senseless thoughts enter my head.
I want to be where there is peace- with no more feelings of being the least.
No crying out for the blessed hand of man. My destiny is to leave this forbidden land.
God will keep me, he will guide the way.
Life is my predator, I am its prey.
Knowing this, I cannot stay. © 2012 CrystalBluePersuasion |
