The Brainwashing by Corporate America

The Brainwashing by Corporate America

A Poem by Crystal L. Test

Drink the Kool-Aid
Every last drop
That's right…
There's my blank, happy smile

No stress or worries
Give up all free-thinking
We can't have you
Outside of the box

We do have our standards
To lead the industry
We will get there
At any cost

No streamlining of processes
Independence doesn't suit you
Just do as you're told
Like a good girl

Follow the dress code
Another drone
Listlessly following
Lost in a sea of khaki

Complete double the work
With half the people
Work nights and weekends
You don't need to relax

Spending time
With friends and family
Is just hours wasted
When you could be constructive

Live and breathe
This company
At least until
We can find a proper replacement

Thanks for the very very kind review! I really like this poem because I see where you're coming from. The last stanza is a perfect ending because it could stand alone and get your point across anyway.
