No Difference

No Difference

A Poem by Daniel Sterling

Why do you look at me with such hate

Am I really all that different in your eyes

Your eyes see only what they want to see

There is no truth behind your hurtful words

You know nothing at all of what pains me

You know nothing of my hardships or trials

But I guess its better to know nothing at all

Then you have no reason to hate me further

Acceptance is for only those who are normal

For indifference is something you do not accept

Someone like me is far from your expectations

Because someone different can never be welcome

But I will not let your endless hate bring me down

I refuse to fall into the depths of saddened despair

Because I know I have done my best in life

I'll prove I'm no different to people like you

Very sad...., yet beautiful as well. Easy read, good flow and nice format. A tear almost fell while reading this. I loved the first sentence really! Well penned, keep writing.
